Free evening discussion: Women's Equality Party: Novelty, or Movement?
Friday 26 June at Guildford library, 6pm for 6.30, finishes 7.30pm
Over the past few years, the feminist movement has taken new life. There has been a succession of landmark issues such as Austengate, the number of local feminist groups has reportedly doubled in the last few years, and books like Caitlin Moran's "How to be a Woman" have built huge readerships. Come and watch a couple of TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) talks, and then we'll talk about Sandi Toksvig's new Women's Equality Party, and its role in politics.
