Digital Do-It-Yourself Spark workshops at Guildford Library on Saturday 9 July

The Digital Do-It-Yourself Spark workshops for adults aim to introduce participants to creative making using all sorts of materials and digital tools. Digital technologies including 3D printing and littleBits electronics will be available within the workshop. Workshop facilitators will explain how these technologies work and can be used creatively. Within the workshop you will be asked to work in a small group of 3-5 people. A creative design challenge will be presented for your team to explore and you will get the opportunity to do some creative making and discuss the digital technologies available, your design ideas and the workshop outcomes. This workshop is part of a research project being carried out by the University of Westminster. The aim of the research is to explore creativity in relation Digital DIY (DiDIY). Read, Watch, Play #bookclubread 28 June

  Read, Watch, Play is an online reading group and on the last Tuesday of each month a different theme is discussed.  The theme this month is  #bookclubread and includes reading the latest recommendation fron The Richard and Judy book club Girl on the train  by Paula Hawkins or about someone elses book club Reading Lolita in Tehran  by Azar Nafisi.  Watching a DVD The Jane Austen book club  or an episode of The Book Club on Channel 4; it all encompasses Read, Watch, Play.  If you don't belong to a book club and would like to start your own go to  www.surreycc.gov.uk/readinggroups  to find out how.
